Northbound USA Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

Northbound USA Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

01st June 2012

We have been advised by the shipping lines servicing the trade, Northbound USA that in accordance with their BAF calculation, a reduction in Bunker Fuel prices has exceeded the trigger value.

Accordingly the Shipping Lines be introducing a BAF of USD 1070/TEU effective 1st July 2012 for all cargo destined - United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and all other destinations serviced via the Panama canal.

The revised BAF will apply to all dry, general reefer and frozen meat shipments uniformly across US East/West services and ANZL ex Brisbane, based on B/L ( bill of lading) date.

The policy of SOS being when such increases occur they are passed on to our clients at cost. Please take note for all future costings and budgeting purposes.
