Bunker Adjustment Factor Update

We have been advised by the shipping lines servicing the trade, Australia to New Zealand that in accordance with their BAF calculation, a reduction in Bunker Fuel prices has exceeded the trigger value.

Accordingly, the shipping lines will be introducing a reduced BAF of USD280 per TEU effective from 1st July 2012 for cargo destined to New Zealand.

The revised BAF will apply to all dry, general reefer and frozen meat shipments uniformly across the Australia to New Zealand service, based on B/L (bill of lading) date.

The policy of SOS being when such increases occur they are passed on to our clients at cost. Please take note for all future costings and budgeting purposes.
