Rate Restoration Ex North East Asia to Australia (15/06/2018)
NOTICE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS
The Shipping Lines operating in the North East Asia (Korea, Japan, China including Hong Kong, and Taiwan) to Australia Trade have announced they will implement a Rate Restoration to the market effective 01st July 2018.
The Increase amount has been advertised as USD 300 Per 20’ and USD 600 Per 40’ dry containers .
This increase will be applied in full on top of existing ongoing market rates to all shipments based on shipment onboard date, and will be subject to ancillary surcharges applicable at the time of shipment. This GRI is applicable for all bookings with ETD 01st July 2018 onwards,
We will have no choice but to pass these increases on to our Valued Customers if the increase is applied.
Based on our Service Contracts and agreements we will not be hit with the full increase but there may be a small increase of some kind if it is enforced. This is not confirmed but we will advise you well in advance once an official announcement has been made.
Personally I do not believe the carriers will proceed with the full GRI as the market is still a little soft and volumes are down for this time of year but I would allocate in your costing’s and forecasting just in case.
Rates will fluctuate week to week now and we will keep you advised accordingly of any movements in the market as they are received.
