Typhoon Haikui Slams Into Shanghai and China's East Coast (13/06/2018)

We have been advised by our Chinese Associates that a typhoon (Typhoon Haikui) that slammed into eastern China's coast, caused major flooding and washed out roads, knocked out power and disrupted transportation in one of the nation's most populous regions. Typhoon Haikui came ashore in Zhejiang province with winds up to 150 kilometers (90 miles) per hour. Shanghai Public Weather Service said Haikui dumped as much as 58 millimeters (2.3 inches) in one hour in the city's centre.

Shanghai, which has 23 million people and is the country's financial hub, banned many outdoor activities. It curtailed public transit, cancelled more than 500 flights, and halted at least 600 trains on Wednesday, local media said.

We have been advised by our Chinese Associates to expect delivery and production delays by your shippers/suppliers within the effected China regions in meeting your expected delivery windows.

At this stage we have been advised that there are no delays at the Ports and vessels are running on schedule.

Your Cargo Status Reports will be updated accordingly on any pending delays.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your local SOS Sales  or Customer Service Representative for more information.
